Artist Statement
I have been inspired by the beauty and majesty of Central Florida's cloudscapes, the grand vistas, the dramatic skies over open prairies and the small lush green spaces. Seen in the light of early morning and late afternoon these scenes whisper their desire to be painted.

My paintings reflect a peacefulness and a meditative energy I find present in these special places that are so close to home. My paintings explore places I have a deep emotional connection to.

Biography
Karen F. Rose's oil and pastel landscapes are described as having a quiet beauty, "a serene sense of place". Whether painting in her studio or "en plein air", she uses a palette of light and color that resonates with the viewer. Her paintings evoke a mystery and memory of a special moment in time of a landscape both real and imagined.

She grew up in southwestern Michigan surrounded by the gentle landscape of orchards and the beauty of the shores of Lake Michigan.

After living in the Midwest, the spectacular views of New England and Connecticut became home, complete with many trips into New York City to be inspired by the art in the city's many museums.

Now, North Central Florida with it's prairies, grand stately oaks, natural springs, horse farms, and wildlife is home.

In her portraits, she strives to capture more than just a likeness,
